About Lisa Lindsay Wicker

wickerauthor.jpgAs an author, speaker, entrepreneur, career-woman, wife, mother, and friend Lisa has been helping people live life to the fullest.  With her dynamic approach to life and her signature style, she connects people across the world and finds her mission to be that of helping others to get the most of their work lives.

Known for her hard hitting, anointed reality checks, she shares contemporary messages with relevant life experiences and empowering principles as demonstrated in her spirited and well-acclaimed new book entitled, The Winning Spirit: Building Employee Enthusiasm.

Drawing from more than 20 years experience as an internationally recognized leader in Human Resources Development, and her spiritual strength and discipline, Ms. Wicker weaves stories of biblical, historical and current leaders into her own experiences and lessons as a leader – and shows how the results of business ownership, departmental and organizational management, and family dynamics are all related to the winning spirit of the people at the top.

“Enthusiasm is natural,” Wicker says.  “Most of us start a new job excited about opportunities to do great things…yet frequently, the enthusiasm of that first day wears off, and the reason almost certainly lies in how we’re treated at work.”  A 2007 Independent Publisher Book Awards nominee, The Winning Spirit: Building Employee Enthusiasm poses the questions: Do your employees face the day with delight, or despair? Are they excited about their careers, or resigned to them? and covers 20 principles of enthusiasm-building leadership.

Lisa Lindsay Wicker is internationally recognized as a leader in human resources development and training, organization dynamics and change management.  Among her credits, Lisa was Vice President of Human Resources, MGM Grand, the first African American female to be named to the position in the company’s international operations.  Through her accomplishments, she was voted one of the most successful businesswomen in Detroit by the Detroit News.  Lisa is Chairman of the Board and founder of the 101 Best Companies to Work for in Metropolitan Detroit, a program that recognizes companies for valuing the contributions and diversity of its employees.
